Working this month with an experienced Pegasus client, on some overview training to brush up on their skills, led them to realise that they were only using a small part of the potential of the XRL tool. The financial Controller was aghast, when confronted with the knowledge that his staff were transposing figures by hand rather than getting the system to produce figures directly from the system.
The common thread was that although the users were interacting with the software everyday to extract information onto pre existing reports, they were unaware how the reports were constructed and thus were not transferring the use of the XRL tool to other areas of the software package.
The were producing debtors and Sales information by hand, creating manual reconciliation logs which were effectively causing them to enter information twice. After a half day training session we were able to match the information produced by hand to be release at the touch of a button saving around 3 hours per week in manual reporting. Along with other reports that were constructed during the session the total time savings were staggering and all for the relatively small investment of 1 training session.
