Optimise your Pegasus Opera System

The Intsys Support Team has put together some general tips to help ensure your Pegasus Opera System can operate at its optimum level and minimise any processing issues.

1. UAC

User Account Control is a Windows Security Feature available on most modern Windows computers. This can sometimes interfere with Pegasus applications as users require Full Control access to all Pegasus files/processes. If you are having performance issues with your Opera system we recommend you test with switching this feature off – you may need to speak with your IT support in order to action this due to security restrictions.

2. Permissions and Virus Checkers

Virus Checkers, as useful as they are, can be a pain when it comes to Opera as they have the ability to lock files when they are being scanned. This can affect performance and also lead to data integrity issues should the application crash. We have a document here which outlines the necessary Permissions and Virus Checker Exclusions for your Pegasus applications.

Download the Permissions and Exclusions document from here.

3. Network connection/stability

Pegasus Opera 3, as with most software in a networked environment, is reliant on the network having a consistent, strong network connection in order to operate effectively. Issues with the network such as temporary dropouts, poor or damaged cabling can and will affect the performance of your application. Your IT team should be able to assess this further should you experience any issues.

If you are unsure about any of this or need to discuss further please do not hesitate to contact the support team.
