What is the difference between a Cost Centre and The “Project” and “Department” fields in the Nominal Ledger

In any Financial software, the coding structure is the key to unlocking superior business analytics and KPI’s - using all of the available levels to report on can help to paint a far more accurate picture of cost analysis, departmental spend vs budget and forecasting.

 

The Pegasus Chart of Accounts has a variety of levels which have increased over time.

 

A) In the early days the software had 3 core levels in the nominal ledgers:

 

 

 

B) Then Pegasus added the ability to break sales down further by Cost Centre
